Nervio is an art platform based in Guadalajara, Mexico. We publish a photography-focused magazine, sell original work and prints through our Art Shop, and host exhibitions and events at our space in Colonia Americana. Photography comes first, but we also publish painting, illustration, and objects that don’t need a caption. Most of the artists we work with are queer. Not all of them.
No fixed schedule. We publish when we have something worth showing. Sometimes twice a month, sometimes once every two months. Sign up for the newsletter to know first.
Yes. The Art Shop sells prints, zines, and original work from artists who have shown with us. Everything ships internationally.
It depends on who made them. Our own prints — the ones we produce — are on paper that lasts and packed like the post office broke our heart last time. For work by other artists, the quality is whatever they chose. We don’t alter their standards. If something arrives damaged, contact us and we’ll fix it.
Subscribe to the newsletter or follow us on social media. We send emails when there’s something worth saying — usually once or twice a month.
Most of the magazine is free. Some printed issues, limited editions, and shop items cost money. That’s how we keep the lights on.
Yes. Go to the Submissions page for guidelines and the form.
Buy their work from the Art Shop. Share their features on social media. Show up to their exhibitions if you’re in town. Money goes to the artist first, then to keeping the space open.
Yes. Share what you like. Tag us if you want, don’t if you don’t. Just don’t crop out the artist’s credit.
Email us at auch@nervio.art or message us on social media. We read everything. We reply when we can.
Yes. We publish artist profiles and short interviews alongside the work. We also link to their personal websites and social media when they want us to.
Yes. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority in your country. Some content involves nudity and adult themes.
Anyone making photographs, paintings, illustrations, or things we don’t have a name for yet. Most of the artists we publish are queer. Not all of them. We don’t check IDs and we don’t require labels.
Submit through the Submissions page. We look at everything. If it moves us, we use it.
Photography comes first. Portraits, documentary, staged work — whatever you’ve got. If it involves the human body, intimacy, or identity, it probably fits. If it’s just pornography without intent, it probably doesn’t. We know the difference.
Go to the Submissions page. There you’ll find the guidelines, checklist, FAQ, and the form. Read them first. Then send your work.
